The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society is proud to present JOY Prom Savannah 2026, a celebration designed for individuals of all abilities to experience an unforgettable evening filled with dancing, food, friendship, and fun. Since 2010, JOY Prom has been a cherished tradition in our community — a night where confidence shines, laughter fills the room, and memories are made that last a lifetime.
This year’s celebration will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Student Center of Compassion Christian Church’s Henderson Campus. The evening would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, including AMBUCS Savannah and Xcel Strategies, who share in our mission of creating meaningful and inclusive experiences. Participants ages 16 and older are invited to arrive by 6:00 PM to enjoy a red-carpet entrance and be matched with their Buddy for the evening. From there, the celebration begins — music, dancing, dinner, and plenty of opportunities for photos and connection.
Buddies and volunteers are asked to arrive by 5:00 PM for a brief information session so they are prepared to welcome participants and serve throughout the night. By 5:30 PM, volunteers will be ready at their assigned stations and Buddies prepared for participant matching, ensuring a smooth and joyful start to the evening.
JOY Prom is more than just a dance. It is a night of belonging, dignity, celebration, and pure joy — a reminder that every individual is wonderfully made and deeply valued. We look forward to celebrating with you.
